Intro to Sustainable Mending

  • Global Village Gifts 53 East 100 North Logan, UT, 84321 United States (map)

Tired of storing clothes and telling yourself you’ll get them fixed eventually? Or do you throw away clothes because you just know that day will never come? We have the class for you!!

The class will be taught by Sue Zollinger and will focus on three areas of hand mending:

1. Fixing rips

2. Patchwork

3. Repair by weaving/darning

Due to space and class space limitations, we ask that you pay for the class in advance. The fee for the class is $10 per person.

The class will be 2 hours long, with most of the time repairing the item(s) that you bring. Everyone will begin, and probably finish repairing an item that they have brought, using the method of their choice.

Some examples of what to bring are items with rips, holes, torn-out seams, or worn and rough areas, in socks, shirts, sweaters, jeans, and pants.

Depending on the class outcomes, a second class, with follow-up methods will be held a week from the first class. More details to come.
